Immersion Assembly

The theme for this term is May the force be with you,Kia Kaha Te Kaha Kia Koe.This term each team will be learning the importance of physics.Team 5 will be learning about the meaning behind sound.

And what the purpose of sound is.Sound can be found through everything no matter what it is.We will also be covering how do our ears work like how sound go through the ear.

Patrick/Jabal The Hitchhiker (Player Template)

WALT: Analysing characters by identifying and inferring character traits.

Task Description : Today in Literacy we have been learning to Analyse characters by Identifying and inferring character traits.By using this we have been reading a story by Roald Dahl called Hitchhiker.We have been learning all about the different character traits character could potentially have, such as:The narrator he is brave , and Trusting. This is me and my Partners script for the Hitchhiker it was all based on the origin story.Please read our story and I will appreciate a positive comment!! 

Title: The Unexpected Passenger

Characters:

  • Narrator: Patrick
  • Hitchhiker: Jabal

Setting: Afternoon and a very sunny and beautiful day

Scene: 

The Narrator is driving to the race until he sees a Hitchhiker and decides to give the guy a ride

NARRATOR
Need a lift?

HITCHHIKER
That’d be great. Heading to the races?

NARRATOR
Yes, just on my way. Hop in.

The Hitchhiker gets in the car and they drive off.

The car pulls into the  parking lot. The Hitchhiker and The Narrator get out, blending into the crowd.

HITCHHIKER
Alright, here’s the plan. We need to lift a wallet from someone in the crowd.

NARRATOR

You want to rob someone? I thought we were just here to watch the races.

HITCHHIKER

Trust me. We’ll do it smoothly. Follow my lead.

They head into the crowd. The Hitchhiker looks around in the crowd and focuses on a wealthy man in a fancy suit.

HITCHHIKER
See that guy? He’s our target. You create a distraction, and leave everything to me

NARRATOR
Alright. But this better be quick.

The Narrator walks over to the wealthy man, pretending to be lost and asking for directions. The man is distracted.

The Hitchhiker slips his hand into the man’s pocket and steals his wallet.

HITCHHIKER
Got it. Let’s move!

NARRATOR

They drive off and never get caught!!

 

 

Term 3 Immersion Assembly/Holiday (Recap)

Hello and good morning for term three the theme is Karawhiua,Give it heaps.This theme is all based on being healthy, excersising and not being so lazy the way some people are!(no offence)Any way the whole school is looking at how they can stay healthy,how they can excersize and much more.Getting to the videos each Team 1-5 had made a video about the theme one video that stood out to me was.

Team 2’s video their video was all about a girl who had tried her hardest at running in cross country
but never placed she had made a goal to work hard and place somewhere on the leader board although she had struggled she had made alot of progress.The day had finally come and she had come first place beating someone who always placed first.

Fast forwarding to my holiday HighLights I basically did nothing all I did was play cod and fortnite and
ate food. Low light was not doing anything.A goal for me is to get more fit.Thank you for coming on my blog please leave a comment.

Inquiry Play(Santa Trap)

This term Team 5 have been learning all the fun things about Drama.Drama goes with our theme for the Term ‘Transformers’. So each group from the start of the term had a play from a book where we would rehearse and get all our costumes and props.My play was called Santa Trap this book is about 4 naughty kids who planned to trap , Santa and demand him for presents in the end…. you can find out by watching the video.

One thing that I could work on was projecting my voice louder and memorise the parts I was given.The other thing that I liked about my group was that when one of us would forget our line someone would help.Last but not least if you’re wondering why I had said so much was because one teammate chose to not come which was sad but we still made it happen.I hope you like our video!!

This here is my audio book and my Response to Text on the classic nursery Rhyme Little Red Riding Hood but its not the original one its part of Roald Dahls book Revolting Rhymes.This term we are doing drama and for literacy we are reading a variety of books.Also we are learning about Analogue Dialogue and much more.
